Chemo impairs immunity for months

Breast cancer chemotherapy recipients have low levels of some lymphocyte cells even nine months after treatment, leading to the suggestion they may need repeats of some standard vaccinations.  

As expected, levels of all four types of lymphocytes (B, CD4+, CD8+ and NK) were markedly reduced in 62 British women two weeks after chemotherapy.
