The Paediatric Active Enhanced Disease Surveillance (PAEDS) system introduced in four tertiary hospitals showed that in a 15-month period, 122 infants presented with seizures but only 15 had received any vaccine within the last seven days. Of those, nine had underlying chronic conditions, such as epilepsy.

Surveillance during the 2009 influenza pandemic found only 11% of all children and 17% of those with underlying chronic disorders had been vaccinated for seasonal influenza.

Of 133 cases of varicella identified between 2007 and 2010, only 16%
