Chinese more likely to be fatalist, not linked to poor health

Although previous studies have linked cultural beliefs about fatalism with low participation in medical screening, the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute survey – attracting a total 300 respondents – found no such association.

There were ethnic differences: Korean and Chinese people reporting fatalistic beliefs actually did more physical exercise than non-believers whereas Caucasians with fatalistic beliefs were more sedentary.
