Chronic constipation ups colorectal cancer risk

Chronic constipation significantly ups the risk of colorectal cancer over time, new research shows.

People with chronic constipation were one and half times more likely to develop colorectal cancer and two and half times more likely to develop benign neoplasms over time compared to people without the condition, the retrospective observational study of almost 30,000 chronic constipation patients and almost 87,000 matched controls found.
