LEADING Australian clinicians are accusing each other of selectively citing or ignoring scientific evidence on the benefits of male circumcision as the row over a national physicians’ policy hots up.

This week’s Medical Journal of Australia carries eight letters responding to a recent editorial recommending a boost to circumcision rates to combat heterosexual transmission of HIV.
