Clopidogrel before CABG: timing is crucial

Acute coronary syndrome patients should be treated with antiplatelet agents including clopidogrel, but the drug must be stopped five days before coronary artery bypass grafting, Australian researchers warn.

Their meta-analysis of five studies with 6,400 ACS patients found those taking clopidogrel before CABG were significantly less likely to die or suffer recurrent myocardial infarction.
