Clot retrieval devices recommended in ischaemic stroke

Endovascular therapy should be used in addition to thrombolysis for selected patients with ischaemic strokes, according to new US guidelines.

Although the previous guidelines are only two years old, “pivotal new evidence” justifies changes in the recommendations, say the authors, led by Professor William Powers of North Carolina University.
