Coffee may prevent gout: study

A daily coffee habit could help prevent hyperuricaemia and gout, Korean researchers suggest.

Their meta-analysis of nine studies involving over 175,000 people found coffee had a significant lowering effect on serum uric acid.

Women need to drink at least 4-6 cups a day to see the drop in serum UA levels, while men need only 1-3 cups a day.
