Hot or cold? Study identifies best snare polypectomy to cut delayed bleeding risk

Cold snare polypectomy for small colorectal polyps reduces the risk for delayed post-polypectomy bleeding compared with hot snare polypectomy, according to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
Dr Li-Chun Chang, from National Taiwan University Hospital in Taipei, and colleagues compared the risk for delayed bleeding after polypectomy with cold snare vs hot snare polypectomy in a multicentre randomised controlled study involving 4270 participants aged 40 or older with polyps of 4-10mm.
