More than 1600 pharmacies have signed up to the Chronic Pain Meds Check trial, which started this week despite widespread condemnation from doctors.

Pharmacists are expected to review medication regimens and create 'action plans' for patients who have experienced chronic pain for at least three months and have signs of either self-management problems or drug dependency.
