Concern yields benign condition
Examination with a dermatoscope showed it was an irritated seborrhoeic keratosis. This is an immune reaction directed at the seborrhoeic keratosis which may cause it to resolve in time leaving a grey macule.
Because this lesion is so superficial involving only the epidermis, it was just shaved off and submitted for pathology, confirming the benign diagnosis.
