Continue statins after acute ICH: study

The debate over the use of statins in intracerebral haemorrhage has been further stoked with a large US-Australian trial finding they significantly cut the 30-day risk of death following stroke.

Among patients hospitalised for ICH, inpatient statin users were over four times more likely to be alive after 30 days than non-statin users, the two-year retrospective study of nearly 3,500 ICH patients found.
They were also two and half times more likely to be discharged to their home or an acute rehab
