Continuous NSAID use in AS questioned

Continuous treatment with the NSAID diclofenac does not inhibit new bone formation in the spine of patients with ankylosing spondylitis, say German researchers.

Their finding runs counter to a growing consensus that NSAIDs reduce radiographic progression in AS patients, with a previous randomised trial finding a significant reduction with patients on celecoxib.
