Controversial GDM criteria find more women at risk


The ADS-ADEA 2017 conference, held in Perth on 30 August to 1 September, was attended by over 1400 delegates. Diabetes Update spoke with several presenters about the most important messages from their presentations.  

In this video, Dr Tang Wong, an endocrinologist at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital in Sydney, discusses whether women with IADPSG- defined GDM who have fasting glucose levels of 5.1 to 5.4mmol/L are at higher risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes than those defined under the 1998 ADIPS criteria.
