Crowdsourcing initiative helps in Parkinson’s research

An innovative project has developed a way of accurately diagnosing Parkinson’s disease over the phone using crowdsourced voice recordings of thousands of patients.

Dreamed up by MIT mathematician Dr Max Little, Parkinson’s Voice Initiative harnessed the power of the internet to collect over 17,000 voice recordings from Parkinson’s patients and healthy subjects.
