Cutting calories can put type 2 diabetes into remission

PATIENTS with type 2 diabetes can attain normal glucose levels with a very low calorie diet over just eight weeks, a researcher says.

The low-cal diet can restore normal glucose levels, reduce levels of liver and pancreatic fat, lower blood pressure and improve serum lipids, says Professor Roy Taylor of Newcastle University, UK.
