Dad’s job linked to birth abnormalities: study
Epidemiologists compared the job histories of almost 10,000 fathers who had a child with one or more birth defects between 1997 and 2004 with jobs held by 4000 fathers whose children had no congenital abnormalities.
Certain types of jobs were associated with particular birth defects, they found.
Artists were more likely to have children with mouth, eye, ear, gut, heart and limb defects, while photographers and photo processors were more likely to have children with eye problems.
