Gluten may trigger depression in people with self-reported non-coeliac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), Melbourne researchers suggest.

Their double-blinded crossover study tested the team’s previous finding that while gluten did not worsen gastrointestinal symptoms in NCGS, patients nonetheless reported “feeling better” when gluten-free and continued to restrict their intake.
