Diabetic ACS patients miss out on HbA1c testing

Less than half of patients with pre-existing diabetes presenting at hospital with acute coronary syndrome have an HbA1c test during their admission, an Australian study shows.

The registry study of 1743 patients in 33 hospitals across Australia showed “marked variation” in the likelihood of having the test from one hospital to another.
