Diet drinks linked to diabetes risk

The meta-analysis of 10 studies including 40,000 cases of diabetes showed that drinking non-nutritively sweetened soft drinks was associated with an 8% increase in the risk of type 2 diabetes.

However, it also found that drinking water increased the risk by 3%.
