Dishwashers linked to allergic disease

The Swedish study found that 38% of the seven- and eight-year-olds who lived in households where a dishwasher was used had a history of eczema compared to 23% where hand washing was favoured. 

Researchers analysed questionnaire data from 1029 children for the prevalence of asthma, rhinoconjunctivitis and eczema, finding children were 43% less likely to develop these allergies when their dishes were handwashed.
