Distress in pregnancy a predictor of pelvic girdle syndrome

Norwegian researchers used questionnaires about emotional wellbeing to follow up more than 41,400 women reporting pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy.

They found that six months after giving birth 78% had recovered completely, 18.5% reported persistent pain in at least one pelvic location, 3% reported pelvic girdle syndrome and 0.5% had severe pelvic girdle syndrome.
