Do seasons play a role in gestational diabetes?

Women who conceive in winter are more likely to develop the gestational diabetes, South Australian researchers have found.

Their data shows the highest incidence of gestational diabetes is for pregnancies with an estimated conception date in June, with 6.74% of pregnancies affected.

Summer conceptions, on the other hand, had the lowest incidence of gestational diabetes, affecting 5.17% pregnancies conceived in the month of January.
