Downside of energy drinks

An otherwise healthy 30-year-old man presents to the emergency department of the local hospital complaining of feeling dizzy. It came on at rest. He has no history of cardiac disease. He is of Anglo-Saxon background and a shift worker. He had consumed four caffeine energy drinks over the last 12 hours. His BP is 95/60, he feels clammy, but is alert and orientated. He is saturating well and a chest x-ray is normal.

He gives a history of palpitations in increasing frequency over the last few months, however he denies any syncopal
