Drug works for weight loss but riddled with side-effects

Phentermine-topiramate therapy for weight loss could be a valuable treatment but many cannot tolerate its adverse side-effects, an Australian study has shown.

The study led by Joseph Proietto from the University of Melbourne (pictured) shows group mean weight decreased by 13kg when patients on a very low energy diet took the combination of 15mg of phentermine and 25mg of topiramate between 2010 and 2012.
