E-nose may be able to sniff bowel cancer at the bedside

The proof-of-concept study, conducted at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, used an “e-nose” – a portable array of nanosensors that react to different fractions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) – to detect a smellprint in stool samples.
