Eating disorders common in type 1
The Norwegian research in 770 people with type 1 diabetes aged 11–19 showed 27% of all the girls had disordered eating behaviours, ranging from 10% of those aged 11–13, to 49% of those aged 17–19.
Only 9% of boys had disordered eating behaviours, which were assessed by 16 questions about skipping meals, vomiting and skipping insulin doses.
