Eating yoghurt may help control hypertension

Nearly 2200 adults who were hypertension-free at baseline were followed up with surveys about yoghurt consumption at three intervals over the years.

Both blood pressure and yoghurt intake increased over the study duration, with 913 participants developing hypertension.

But participants who received at least 2% of their total calorie intake from yoghurt were 31% less likely to develop high blood pressure, the researchers found.
