Educate and motivate

AT A RECENT ‘witness seminar’ on tobacco control, convened by the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation, a group of (ageing) health professionals with cumulative personal experiences dating back to the invention of the wheel (including yours truly) met to discuss the history of tobacco control in Australia.

The outcome was revealing, not just in clarifying the power of prevention done well, and in the debt owed to a relatively small number of persistent and often courageous health professionals, but in the message, if any, for other lifestyle-related&nbsp
