End-of-life care aided by new screening tool

Epidemiologist and preventive medicine expert Dr Magnolia Cardona-Morrell from UNSW Medicine’s Simpson Centre for Health Service Research, who led the development, said elderly people with chronic, age-related illness commonly endure repeated admissions to hospital in the last months of life, often experiencing intrusive medical procedures that ultimately do not improve quality of remaining life.
