Episodic migraine more common in obese population
In a US survey of 3800 adults, 1044 were obese and 188 reported occasional migraine, defined as 14 or fewer headaches per month.
Individuals who were obese (BMI > 30) were 81% more likely to have episodic migraine, and even those overweight had greater odds of the headaches, compared to those of normal weight, the researchers found.
The link was particularly strong for those younger than 50 years and for women.
