Excellent guidelines will not solve eating disorder travesty

Two psychiatrists have criticised the poor treatment of adults with severe eating disorders, saying “excellent” new RANZCP guidelines will not be enough to solve the problem.

Families and GPs struggle to find adequate services for these patients, and this is exacerbated if the patient does not have private health insurance, Dr Geoffrey Buckett and Dr Ute Vollmer-Conna write in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry.
