Expert flags oestrogen-only HRT safer than combination

In an analysis of research – including the Million Women Study and the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study – published in Cancer Forum, Professor Olver said unopposed oestrogens had a better risk profile than oestrogen-progestogen combinations. A population health goal where the vast majority of HRT use was short-term unopposed oestrogens was highly desirable, he said.
