Exploring adolescent issues
Conflicts: nothing to declare
Adolescence marks the transition from childhood to adulthood. It is a time of rapid physical and emotional change juxtaposed against a time of asserting independence. It can be intermittently a time of confusion for the young person and frustration for parents. Of the many challenges that face young people, issues of risk-taking behaviour, smoking, alcohol and other substance abuse, eating disorders and depression are typically more common in adolescence.
