Faecal transplant works in kids too

A two-year-old boy has been successfully treated for a clostridium difficile infection with a faecal transplant after numerous rounds of antibiotics failed to clear it.

Just 24 hours after the faecal microbial treatment, which used the child’s father as a donor, the toddler had a formed bowel motion – the first in his life, Melbourne doctors report.
