Fall-related brain injury rising among the elderly

Examining hospital data for TBI among men and women aged 80 years or older, researchers found age-adjusted incidence rose 289% for women and 315% for men over the period studied.

The incidence per 100,000 people was, for women, 168.2 in 1970 and 653.6 in 2011, and for men it was 174.6 and 724, respectively.
