Prevalence of morbid obesity (BMI ≥40.0) was calculated at 2.5% in nearly 1500 women (aged 20–94) studied between 1993–97, and 4.2% in more than 1000 women studied between 2004–08. The mean BMI of 26 increased by 4% to 27.1 and the odds of morbid obesity increased by 76% in the second group.
