Flu vaccines need more scrutiny to keep public trust

Australia suspended paediatric influenza vaccinations in April 2010 as a result of the high fevers and convulsions associated with Fluvax (CSL TIV).

Following estimates that the risk of febrile convulsions in young children after vaccination with CSL TIV was 3–10 per 1000 children vaccinated in 2010, it is no longer registered for children under five in Australia, the US and UK.
