Frail elderly ignored in CVD guidelines

MOST clinical practice guidelines for the primary prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) are inadequate when it comes to the care of the elderly, a University of Sydney analysis has found. 

Among the 47 guidelines included in the study, there is “very limited” discussion of treatment of the frail elderly or older patients with comorbidities, the authors say.
