Fruit juices, on the other hand, had a non-linear association with gestational diabetes; the lowest risk was among women with modest consumption.
At moderate consumption, the beneficial effects from components such as vitamins and minerals may counterbalance the potential adverse effects of the rapidly absorbed sugars – however the authors were unable to completely rule out confounding factors.
