FTD study identifies targets for behavioural therapy

Apathy is strongly linked to increasing disability in frontotemporal dementia, but that is not necessarily the case with stereotypical behaviours, Australian researchers have found.

The finding suggests that in some patients, stereotypical behaviour, a common symptom in FTD, should actually be encouraged and channelled into appropriate activities.
