Gardasil possible cure for cutaneous warts

OFF-LABEL use of the quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine can successfully treat cutaneous warts, Australian experts say.

Professor Dedee Murrell, head of the department of dermatology at St George Hospital, Sydney, hypothesised the vaccine (Gardasil, CSL/Merck) could be used to treat warts because the virus causing them has 99% sequence similarity with HPV.
