Gastroenterologists shun public sector work

Australian gastroenterologists spend nearly two-thirds of their professional time seeing private patients, new research reveals.

An AHPRA survey of doctors working in eight specialist areas found that while most gastroenterologists worked in both the private and public sectors, they split their time unevenly, spending 63% of it with private patients.
