Good and bad news in JIA

Children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis are at no greater risk of cancer compared with other children, but in later life they are more likely to get heart disease.

These are the findings of two studies published this week. The first, from Canada, looked at heart disease, hypertension, gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia in a cohort of first-time mothers who had previously been diagnosed with JIA.
