GP reprimanded for Venus flytrap cancer treatment

A GP has been reprimanded for treating a cancer patient with $20,000 worth of intravenous vitamin C, and Venus flytrap and mistletoe extracts, sold by a company of which he was a director and shareholder.

Dr William Henry Barnes, from Cannington, WA, sold the alternative treatments to the now-deceased patient, Penelope Brown, who had been diagnosed with rectal cancer and malignant metastases.
