GPs at the forefront of diabetes pilot

The Diabetes Care Project is a general practice model being piloted to determine whether it can improve outcomes for patients.

Doctor’s groups, including the AMA, have been sceptical of the project’s block funding model and were instrumental in forcing the government to pilot the concept before rolling it out nationally (MO, 27 Feb).

It’s early days, but GPs involved in the project are starting to see how the model might benefit their patients.
