GPs urged to spot child abuse signs amid spike in referrals
REFERRALS to a support group for adult survivors of child abuse are growing rapidly, particularly among over-50s, prompting its president to issue a reminder for GPs to “keep trauma on their radar”.
Referrals to Adults Surviving Child Abuse (ACSA) increased 2.6-fold in the year to September 2014, with a particularly noteworthy rise among 50—59-year-olds.
