Graves’ disease varies by race

Graves’ disease is more common in certain ethnic groups, an Australian led study finds. 

Lead author endocrinologist Don McLeod from the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital in Australia, and colleagues published their findings in a letter published in JAMA last month.

Graves’ disease in Asian/Pacific Islanders and African Americans was almost twice as common in women and more than two-and-a-half times more common in men compared with Caucasians, the analysis of a large database of US active duty service personnel found.
