A guide to the new dementia guidelines

EARLY referral of patients with possible dementia for memory assessment, and managing Alzheimer’s disease with medication, are among key recommendations of clinical guidelines launched this week. 

The NHMRC-endorsed guidelines suggest specialist assessment of patients is best practice, although this is backed by only low quality evidence.
