Heart problems underestimated in PsA

Around 20% of psoriatic arthritis patients have a major cardiovascular event by the time they’re 70, a Canadian study has found.

And by the age of 80, that figure rises to over 30%.

The study, which followed over 1000 PsA patients for over 35 years, looked at a range of cardiovascular outcomes, including myocardial infarction, ischaemic stroke, revascularisation and CV-related death.
